Three-time Olympian Ignaczak Heads Social Media Push for Club Worlds
Lausanne, Switzerland, November 3, 2017 – Three-time Olympian and world and European champion Krzysztof “Igla” Ignaczak has been named official Ambassador of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship scheduled for next month in Poland.
The 39-year-old libero who has been capped 321 times with the Polish National Team, went online to promote the competition and the organisers’ social media channels.
In addition to their YouTube Channel, the organizers have set up a dedicated website, supported by Facebook and Twitter feeds (all in Polish).
The event, brings action from the world’s top clubs to fans in the Polish cities of Opole, Lodz and Krakow, from December 12 to 17 for the sport’s ultimate club trophy.
Ignaczak wrapped up a brilliant career within Poland with just a brief stint in Italy, before coming out of retirement to help out with the immensely popular amongst England’s Polish community IBB Polonia London this year.
“For the first time in Polish courts we will see the best clubs of the world,” said Ignaczak.”Seven different countries, different styles of play, temperament of players and most of all stars of the volleyball world – this is an unusual attraction for every fan. I am very glad to be the ambassador of such an extraordinary event.”

Polish champions ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle host defending world champions Sada Cruzeiro of Contagem, Italian champions Cucine Lube Civitanova and two-time Asian champions Sarmayeh Bank Tehran in Pool A in Opole.
Wild Card PGE Skra Belchatow, two-time silver and once bronze medallists at the club Worlds, face European champions Zenit Kazan, Argentina champions Personal Bolivar and China champions Shanghai Volleyball Club in Pool B in Lodz.
The top teams of each pool advance to the medals round in Krakow, on December 16 and 17.
