Ukraine won the first official conflict with Iran

The national volleyball team of Iran was defeated by Ukraine in their second match during the Paris Olympic qualifiers.

The inaugural group of the tournament has commenced with Iran’s national volleyball team participating alongside Brazil, who is hosting the event, as well as Italy, Cuba, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, and Qatar. It has been reported that Ukraine suffered a defeat with a score of 3-0.

In this match, Behrouz Ataei’s player was defeated by the score of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-17 to experience their second defeat in this tournament.

The Iranian national volleyball team with the composition of Mohammad Taher Vadi, Shahrouz Homayunfarmanesh, Mohammad Valizadeh, Amin Esmailnezhad, Amir Hossein Esfandiar, Seyed Mohammad Mousavi, and Mohammad Reza Hazratpour (libero) played against Ukraine.

At the beginning of the first set of this match, Ukraine scored four points in a row, and in the middle of the set, the difference between the two teams reached 6 points. At the end of this set, Mobin Nasri and Maysam Salehi also came to the court, but in the end, the first set ended 25-19 in favor of Ukraine. In this set, Ukraine scored 16 attack points and Iran scored 12 attack points. Both teams scored three points in defense, but the Ukrainians scored three service points, while Iran scored only one point.

Mobin Nasri and Saber Kazemi came to the field for Iran at the beginning of the second set and the first point went to the Iranian team, but in the middle of the game, the Ukrainians imposed their advantage on the Iranian team, and in the 10th point, they were five points ahead of Iran. In the continuation of this set, Javad Karimi, Maysam Salehi, and Arman Salehi also came to the ground. Our country’s national team reduced their points difference with Ukraine, but in the end, they lost 25-22 so this team took one point from Iran.

The third set of this match ended 25-17 in favor of Ukraine, despite our country’s national team’s efforts, so the yellow-clad team won three points in the match.

Marcias Luis Gerardo from Mexico as the first referee and Fernandez Fuentes David from Spain as the second referee were in charge of judging this match.

The match between the two teams of Iran and Ukraine was held for the first time in history, and this team was introduced as the 60th opponent of Iranian men’s volleyball in the world.

In the other three matches on the second day of the first Olympic qualifying group, the teams of Brazil, Germany, and Italy won against their opponents.

The Iranian national volleyball team will face Qatar in its third match on Tuesday, the 2^nd of October at 16:30. Our country’s national team lost 3-1 to Germany in the first game.
