Vadi: We were surprised in the first set

The Iranian national volleyball team setter said: “We were surprised at the beginning of the match with Iraq, but then we returned to the game.”

Mohammad Tahir Vadi added after the match against Iraq, which ended 3-1 in favor of Iran: “At the beginning of the game, we were surprised by the negligence of the opponent.”

He added: Iraq played with all their strength in this game.

Vadi stated: We enjoyed the atmosphere of Urmia spectators, and their support is unparalleled.

The Iranian national volleyball team defeated Iraq in its second match in the 2023 Asian Men’s Championship to enter the elimination stage as the top team in the first group of this competition.

The preliminary stage of the 22nd Asian  Men’s Volleyball Championship, which started on Saturday, August 19, hosted by Urmia, ended tonight (Monday, August 21), with the introduction of 12 teams advancing to the final stage.
