Venues announced for 2017 World Grand Champions Cup
The Japan Volleyball Association (JVA) and the FIVB confirm the venues for the 2017 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup today, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the Nippongaishi Hall in Nagoya and the Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (capacity 10,000) will host Women’s World Grand Champions Cup matches on September 5 and 6.
The competition will then move to Nagoya from September 8 to 10 where it will take place at the Nippongaishi Hall (capacity 8,000).
In the Men’s World Grand Champions Cup, the Nippongaishi Hall will this time play host to the first two days of the competition on September 12 and 13.
The second part of the competition will take place at the Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium (capacity 8,200) from September 15 to 17.
Next year’s World Grand Champions Cup will be the seventh edition of the FIVB’s quadrennial event for men’s and women’s national teams and the final highlight of the FIVB’s 2017 volleyball calendar, which also features the FIVB Volleyball Club World Championships, the FIVB Volleyball World League and World Grand Prix and six Age-Category World Championships.
Brazil won both the men’s and the women’s competitions at the sixth edition of the World Grand Champions Cup in 2013.
