WCH QT/ 2018 World Championship Ticketed for Iran in Ardabil
Ardabil, Iran, August 13, 2017 – Iran rout past Kazakhstan 3-0 in a lop-sided match 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-16 at FIVB World Qualification Tournament at Rezazadeh 6000-seat Stadium and earned the berth for World Championship next year in Bulgaria & Italy.
The host Iran entered the court standing a good chance of qualifying while Kazakhstan fought with no chance. The vice-champion of 2017 Asian Championship in Indonesia tried to get the helm of second set after beating the first 25-18; however, any tied attempts did not last much and soon Iran closed the set 25-17. Carrying the support of Rapturous spectators, the host Iran dominated the match on the third set 25-16.
Iran and China qualified to the 2018 World Championship, which will be jointly hosted by Italy and Bulgaria next year.
Hosts Italy and Bulgaria, defending champions Poland have direct tickets to the FIVB’s flagship tournament. France, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Russia, Serbia, Finland, and Belgium from Europe plus Japan, Australia, Iran, and China from Asia have secured their berths through continental qualifiers.
