WCh QT/ Fired-Up Iran Stop Winning Streak of China
Ardabil, Iran, August 12, 2017 – fired-up Iran gave halt to the winning streak of China 3-0 (25-21, 29-27, 25-20 at FIVB World Qualification Tournament at Rezazadeh 6000-seat stadium.
Iran and China both unbeaten from their last encounters with one match fewer for the host as they rest the first day entered the court as two favorites of pool A. The host Iran carrying the support of rapturous volleyball fans took the early lead and dominate the first set to finish it 25-21.
Lozano was not willing to surrender and with some substitutions used a different plan and made the second set tough for Iran. The points were interchanged between two teams though Iran left China in trail at some moments but China tied 22-22. The all-round performance of Ebadipour survived Iran to edge past 29-27.
China tread forward head to head up to 7-7 in the third set. Lozano called his players out as they trail 7-11 but it did not work and Iran closed the second TTO 16-12. Iran were hard to be competed as they closed the set 25-18 and brought the first loss to the unbeaten China.
