WCh QT/ Qatar Upset Kazakhstan in Straight-set Win 3-0
Ardabil, Iran, August 12, 2017 – Qatar earned a straight-set win (25-21, 25-17, 25-18) against Kazakhstan at FIVB World Qualification Tournament at Rezazadeh 6000-seat stadium on Third day.
Kazakhstan with 2-0 is less likely to enliven his place in Italy & Bulgaria next year. Qatar has already recorded two wins out of three matches and has a better condition hence. Qatar will rest tomorrow and will meet the host Iran on the last day of Tournament.
Starting off the match with efficiency, Qatar stormed to a big lead in the beginning of the first set. Powerful spikes form Qatar No.13 Raimi and No.15 Ilija caused Kazakhstan hard to return. Although Kazakhstan No.13 Erdshtein stood out and gained points by points through his driving attacks, Qatar soon took over the first set effortlessly 25-21.
Qatar further emphasized their defense and attack. Their destructive serves and airtight blocks made it more and more difficult for Kazakhstan to sneak one point. Kazakhstan quit the match and lost the match 3-0.
