We Had a 36-Hour Journey from Jakarta to Iran; Reaching the Finals is Our First Goal
The head coach of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Indonesia’s representative team, stated, “We had a very tough journey, and we arrived in Iran yesterday after 36 hours from Jakarta.”
According to the Communications Department of the Volleyball Federation, Reidel Alfonso Gonzales, head coach of Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, shared his thoughts after the team’s first training session at the main court for the Asian Men’s Club Championship. He noted, “This is our second time participating in this tournament. We took part in the last edition held in Bahrain.”
He continued, “We are a new team with only three years of experience in the national league, and I believe we have made good development during this time. We are pleased to have several professional players who are competing with us.”
Regarding their journey to Yazd, Gonzales remarked, “It was a very difficult trip, and we arrived in Yazd after a 36-hour journey from Jakarta. We only had time to rest and haven’t had the opportunity to visit the city yet.”
Discussing their participation in the Asian Men’s Club Championship, he said, “Our first goal is to reach the finals, and after that, we will go for the championship. Last year, we lost the final to Suntory, and we try to become champions this year.”
Gonzales also highlighted the presence of players Ngapeth and Patry in the Indonesian team, saying, “It’s fantastic to have top players who recently returned from the Olympics. They are professional players and will fast be matched with the team.”
