Week 23 – Sepahan Fould Breaks the Winning Chain of Yazd Shahdab

Tehran, Iran, January 22, 2021 – Sepahan Foulad, the top team of table breaks the winning chain of Yazd Shahdab by beating them 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 25-16) and the loss brings the unfortunate Shahdab a place down from the ranking table to the fifth place in Iran Men’s Super Volleyball League.

On the other side, Sirjan Foulad uses the opportunity to bring a straight-set loss to Varamin Shahrdari 25-22, 25-20, 25-20 to replace Yazd Shahdab in the fourth place.

The top three teams of the table have already moved up to the playoffs and now the next three teams of Sirjan Fould, Yazd Shahdab, and Tehran Saipa made their way into the playoffs.

Overall eight teams are to move up to the playoffs and the top six teams of table have already completed their mission; thus, only two more teams are left to fill the place.

Six matches were held in Week 23 at two halls – Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran, with Tehran Saipa, Sirjan Foulad, Sepahan Foulad, Tehran Paykan, Urmia Shahrdari, and Ardakan Khatam claiming victory.

The top three teams kept their place and no changes were made in their ranking from the last two weeks; however, Yazd Shahdab is replaced Sirjan Fould in the fourth position.
