Week 26 – Qazvin & Ardakan Disappointed with Moving up to Playoffs

Tehran, Iran, February 03, 2021 – Six matches were held in Week 26 at two halls – Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran where Peykan Tehran, Gonbad Shahrdari, Foulad Sirjan, Yazd Shahdab, Sepahan Foulad and Kordestan Rahyab Melal beat their opponents.

The matches of week 26 finished in the way that teams of Qazvin Shahrdari and Ardakan Khatam got disappointed with reaching the playoffs.

Qazvin lost to Kordestan Rahyab Melal 3-2 (25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 19-25, 15-13); the tie-breaker victory of Kordestan Rahyab Melal could not bring hope to the winner as they already dismissed the playoffs. Qazvin Shahrdari got upset with having any further chance to move up to the playoffs.

Ardakan Khatam is no more hopeful to get to the playoff after accepting the loss to Yazd Shahdab 3-1 (25-20, 34-32, 24-26, 25-17).

In another encounter of the week, Foulad Sirjan achieved their 18^th victory by overcoming Ramsar Hoursan 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 25-20). Saber Kazemi with 36 points from the winning side became the best scorer of this match.

Since the first six team of the ranking table have already earned the berth to the playoffs, the next four teams of Varamin Shahrdari, Gonbad Shahrdari, Ramsar Hoursan, and Tehran Paykan will battle for two remaining quotas in the next four weeks of the preliminary phase.

Amol Labaniat Haraz and Urmia Shahrdari rested in week 26 and the other teams recorded the following results:

The top three teams of the table preserved their position in week 26 with Sepahan Foulad taking the lead following Urmia Shahrdari and Sirjan Foulad.
