The group stage of the 17th World Men’s Club Championship began at 00:30 on Wednesday night, December 7, Tehran time, with the participation of six teams hosted by the city of Betim, Brazil

The Paykan team of Tehran, which has participated in this competition as the champion of the old continent of Asia and lost 3-1 to Itambé Minas, the runner-up of South America from Brazil in the opening match, will face Trentino Itas in their second match this morning (Friday, December 9)

The Paykan, who are experiencing their 5th international test, were defeated by their strong opponent 3-1 in the second match of the group stage, so that their hopes of advancing to the next stage were lost

 Peyman Akbari’s Players won 27-25 in the third set of this match, but in the first, second and fourth sets they lost to Trentino from Italy with the scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-19 respectively. They placed third in the table of the second group and finished their work in this competition

The judges of this competition, which was held in the Braga Hall of Betim city, were Vera Mechan Walter from Peru and Cacador Anderson from Brazil

In the third set of this match and at a critical score of 25-25, the power went out in the Braga hall and the game was stopped for about 40 minutes

The teams of Trentino Italy and Itambe Minas, whose promotion to the semi-final stage has been confirmed with one win and three points, will face each other on the third day of the group stage to determine the leader of the second group table
